The Office of Career and Technical Education works with administrators, educators, and Business and Industry to strengthen CTE in Michigan.

In 2009, Career and Technical Education
began experiencing a lack of qualified teachers, administrators, and
knowledgeable staff.  The Michigan Department of Education acknowledged
this shortage by allowing most Career and Technical Educators to earn more
salary in retirement than most of their academic peers. This helped stem the
growing need for qualified CTE personnel temporarily.

In 2011, the Michigan legislature passed a law forbidding all retired
educators to earn more than a certain amount annually in education without
losing their pension and their benefits.  Retirees prior to 2010 are exempt
from this law.  Slowly, in a climate of educational change and economic
downturns, knowledgeable CTE educators and administrators are needed to
accomplish many required tasks in CTE around Michigan and in the
country.

CTE Temps was created to fill this need by a CTE educator with
experience in the Michigan Department of Education, Office of Career and
Technical Education - Carol Clark.  Since Carol is currently employed, her
idea was captured by her husband Steve, a retired veteran from the Michigan
National Guard. He watched as his wife struggled to answer numerous questions
from administrators and teachers around the state who had serious needs that
could not be fulfilled without a network of knowledgeable people.  EVERYONE
with CTE background, Business and Industry knowledge, academic integration
expertise, grant, finance, data, or TRAC knowledge was needed.  Steve
decided that the time for CTE Temps is here!

Now ,with numerous contracted employees in all aspects of Career and
Technical Education, CTE Temps is a 'one stop shopping guide' to fulfill
critical needs in CTE Education.  The company is new, but growing quickly.
